Star Trek: Lower Decks #12

This twelfth issue of IDW's Star Trek: Lower Decks dives headfirst into aquatic chaos, with cover art by Philip Murphy depicting two crew members caught in the coiling tentacles of a massive, many-eyed sea creature while a beluga whale in a Starfleet vest looks on from below — all as a shuttlecraft swoops in overhead. The story title "Again with the Whales...Again." promises the kind of gleefully self-aware humor the series does so well, and the cover delivers that energy perfectly with its swirling water, coral-studded depths, and one very panicked ensign mid-scream. A fun, eye-catching entry in this animated-style comics run.
