In this timeline, the Romulans made first contact with Earth instead of the Vulcans and subsequently enslaved the human race. Centuries later, a group of rebels led by William Riker and including Geordi La Forge (a blind man), Data (a disembodied head only); Worf (a pacifist Klingon), and Deanna Troi (a warrior), believe that humans are destined for greater things. They are seeking a secret base that holds the hope of restoring mankind to its destined greatness, but first they must free the one man who knows the location of the base: Jean-Luc Picard.
