Scotty visits Yorktown Base to check on how the construction of the new Enterprise has progressed while he has been away teaching at Starfleet Academy. Kevin the Teenaxi has been spending time among Starfleet personnel at Yorktown and has been learning to appreciate humans, however that viewed is not shared by others of his race who plan something sinister when they visit the base. Kevin is forced to choose between his race and his new friends in Starfleet.
