Star Trek #8
From Gold Key's September 1970 run of Star Trek, this issue promises an unsettling sci-fi premise right on the cover: the crew of the Enterprise — Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Uhura, and several other recognizable crew members — stand aboard the ship looking strangely vulnerable, with the tagline warning that they stand "helpless before an alien who dooms them… to infancy!" The photo-cover layout, split into bold yellow and green panels, gives the whole thing a vivid pop-art energy that perfectly captures the era. "The Youth Trap" sounds like exactly the kind of inventive, high-concept Star Trek adventure that made the series such a natural fit for comics.
