Spock dominates this 1979 Gold Key entry, rendered with striking intensity as he leans over a console, hand pressed to his temple in visible distress, while a determined woman and a watchful Kirk hover in the background — and a monitor behind them shows both Kirk and Spock in a tense exchange. Mel Crawford's painted cover sets the mood perfectly for "To Err Is Vulcan," a story title that promises something wonderfully unsettling about the Enterprise's most unflappable officer. Writer Arnold Drake and artist A. McWilliams bring their talents to an issue that's a fine example of Gold Key's warmly painted approach to the Final Frontier.
