“Carefree”

"Carefree" in Star Love Stories in Pictures #668 (1977) captures a moment of quiet tension beneath the rain-slicked streets of a small town, where Denise’s chance encounter with Ross on a motorbike sparks a choice between comfort and risk. With art by Julio Vivas and a cover by Herson, the story unfolds in soft, expressive lines that mirror the emotional pull between two very different paths—one defined by stability, the other by the thrill of the unknown.

Stranded at the bus station on a rainy night, Denise is given a ride home by Ross on his motorbike. Although she has a boyfriend who seems to have everything a girl could ask for, she agrees to go out with Ross. Ross likes excitement and enjoys his freedom. The girls at the office warn Denise that Ross has a reputation as a heart-breaker because he doesn't want to settle down, so she is surprised when he eventually asks her to marry him. Denise has to decide between Ross and Keith.
