New to London, Tricia goes out with a photographer from the agency where she works. He drinks too much for her liking and as he's driving her to another club, the car is given a sickening jolt. Later she anonymously calls 999 to report an injured dog, but discovers in the paper the next morning that a man was the victim of a hit-and-run driver during the night near where they were driving. Larry begs her to keep quiet about the incident and promises to pay for the man's convalescence. But when Tricia meets Martin, she discovers that his sister is being accused of making the 999 call.
