“Leave Me Alone!”

"Leave Me Alone!" is a poignant slice of teenage rebellion and sisterly tension in this 1986 D.C. Thomson gem, where nineteen-year-old film star Libby flees her overprotective sister Julia after years of living in her shadow. Seeking freedom in the desert, Libby finds unexpected romance with a rancher in Blackwater Creek—only for Julia to resurface with manipulative tactics to pull her back into the spotlight. Penciled and inked by John McNamara, the story unfolds with quiet intensity, while the cover by Giovanni Tedesco captures the desert’s stark beauty and Libby’s quiet defiance.

After their parents' death, Julia had overseen her sister's successful film career as a child star. Still popular at nineteen, Libby finally had enough of her older sister's overbearing control of her life and she took off driving east across the desert, using a fake name. When she stopped in Blackwater Creek, she met a rancher and fell in love. But Julia was determined to get Libby to continue her acting career and used underhanded tactics to break up Adam and Libby.
