Jo's secret passion is song writing. When she meets Ross, an aspiring singer, she writes him songs that help launch his career. She falls for Ross, but is devastated when his agent takes her to meet Shirley, who introduces herself as Ross's wife. Jo decides to go it alone and becomes a huge success.
