Cara and her father were employed in the coach tour business, taking visitors around a small Cornish village. Cara was the conductress and her father was the driver. Cara dated a couple of guys, but is pestered by David, son of the coach tour owner. When David recklessly takes a boat out in bad weather, a rescue crew saves his life. Cara's father, a member of the rescue crew, hurts his back pulling Brett out of the water and can't work. Brett's father insists on paying Cara's father his full wage until he is fit to carry on and Brett drives the bus in his place.
