When Kate and Claire's mother died, their father took the girls from England to a lonely Canadian ranch. Kate was happy to be treated like a boy by the cattlemen, hunters and trappers. But when a TV actor crash lands his plane near their ranch and shows an obvious interest in Claire, Kate decides to wear a dress and put on makeup. Once seen like that, Kate discovers she can't go back to being just one of the boys.
