When Glen asked to see her boss, the American manager of the firm, Melanie had an immediate attraction to him but felt there was something uneasy about him. Over time she falls in love with him and he tells her that he loves her, but he says he isn't in a position to ask her to marry him yet. He returns to America and she follows him, but learns that he is wanted for murder in California under a different name.
