Star-Lord #3

Part of Marvel's "Grounded" storyline, this 2017 issue puts Peter Quill in a very bad spot — the cover by Kris Anka shows Star-Lord bound by red lines and straining against the grip of a looming, masked figure whose winged silhouette dominates the dark background. Anka's clean, stylish linework gives the scene a tense, graphic energy that feels distinctly street-level, a far cry from the cosmic adventures Quill is known for. A great-looking chapter in a run that finds everyone's favorite space rogue decidedly back on Earth and clearly in over his head.
