Star-Lord #1
The Yaffa/Page Publications Star-Lord #1 (1978) is a rare document of how Marvel's Peter Quill character travelled beyond North American borders in the Bronze Age, reaching Australian readers through the Yaffa Publishing Group's Page Publications imprint — one of the primary vehicles for Marvel reprints Down Under between the mid-1970s and early 1980s. As a foreign edition of Marvel's own Star-Lord magazine material, it stands as a regional printing curiosity that extended the character's early footprint at a time when he had yet to achieve mainstream recognition. Its significance today is primarily archival: it marks the reach of Bronze Age Marvel distribution networks and the appetite for American science-fiction comics in the Australian market during the post-Star Wars boom.

Yaffa's Page Publications division secured the rights to reprint Marvel comics in Australia from approximately 1976–77, filling a gap left when Newton Comics ceased publication, and held that licence until around 1982–83. The Page Publications edition of Star-Lord #1 reproduces the contents of a corresponding Marvel edition, with a handful of layout differences: the Jim Starlin interior illustration from the Marvel edition was repositioned to the rear cover of the Yaffa edition, and the 'Stan Lee Presents' introductory feature was moved to the inner cover, while the 'Second Launch!' feature and letters pages present in the Marvel edition were dropped entirely. A second issue in the Yaffa Star-Lord series, numbered #2, drew from the earlier Marvel Preview #4; a third unnumbered recycled issue is catalogued as Star-Lord #3 on the Grand Comics Database.
