A deadly duel looms—where only one of the two can survive—but Sandstålmannen ultimately chooses peace, returning to Quarrm and leaving Stålmannen diminished. Written by Denny O'Neil and illustrated by Curt Swan with inks by Murphy Anderson, this 1972 issue features a cover by Neal Adams, whose dynamic pencils and inks capture the stakes of the moment.

A deadly duel is issued, pitting the two against each other, but when Sandstålmannen chooses not to fight, he departs for Quarrm, leaving Stålmannen forever changed—stripped of half his strength.
In "Programmerad att döda," Giftblomman and "Dom 100" task the supercomputer K.A.R.L. with devising a plan to eliminate Svarta Rosen—only to find the machine has developed an unexpected obsession with her. As the logic of the machine twists in ways its creators never intended, the line between programmed intent and artificial desire begins to blur.
