Stranded without his powers under Lexor’s red sun, he’s imprisoned—but escapes, forging a dangerous pact with Luthor to destroy the crystals by hurling them into the sun. Returning to Earth, Stålmannen knows his mission isn’t truly over, and he prepares to return to Lexor to bring Luthor to justice. Written by Edmond Hamilton and illustrated by Curt Swan, with inks by George Klein and lettering by Sune Käll, this 1964 issue features cover art by Curt Swan and George Klein.

In "Stålkvinnan," the alien heroine Tharka from Zor arrives on Earth to aid Stålmannen in stopping Bowtie Barris’s dangerous gang—but her powers fail her on this planet. With the gang holding hostages and Stålmannen paralyzed by fear, he must devise a daring ruse to make it seem as though Tharka’s strength is superhuman, all while she’s just an ordinary woman facing impossible odds.
In "Hank Garvin järnmannen," Jack Dugans gang stages a daring frame-up, making Hank Garvin appear as the infamous superhero Stålmannen. When they then hire Garvin as CEO of their company, Global, they set a trap for unsuspecting investors—only to vanish with the money.
