Squa Tront #13

Harvey Kurtzman's cover for this 2012 Fantagraphics release sets the tone perfectly: a massive, scowling wooden idol looms over two comically bug-eyed rescuers clutching horns and a wide-eyed blonde in a red outfit, one hapless fellow pleading, "But…but…we've come to rescue you!…Why are you afraid?" It's a wonderfully absurdist scene that captures the irreverent spirit Squa Tront has always brought to celebrating EC Comics history.
