A wartime spy thriller dripping with tension, Spynest Missie 3 — "Operatie Arendsjong" — delivers a striking cover from artist Christophe Alliel: a confident young woman in a black dress stands front and center, pistol raised, while a shadowy armed figure looms behind her and a blond man with a gun crouches to one side. Above them, a formation of WWII-era aircraft — including a German Luftwaffe fighter — fills a smoke-tinged sky, with the silhouette of what appears to be Big Ben anchoring the background. Published in 2016 by Daedalus, this Dutch-language series clearly has a taste for high-stakes espionage set against the backdrop of the Second World War, and Alliel's dynamic, cinematic composition makes it easy to see why.
