“The China Doll!”

Atlas Comics' Cold War anthology delivers tense espionage action in this 1955 installment of Spy Thrillers. The cover by Carl Burgos and Sol Brodsky puts hero Rick Davis — "the man who dares to cut holes in the Iron Curtain" — center stage, gun drawn and in full stride as he escapes down stone steps while menacing figures close in from both sides. With "The Case of the Tiger's Claws!" on the cover and "The Case of the China Doll!" promised inside, this ten-cent package offered Cold War readers a double dose of spy-fiction thrills.
