Spread continues to deliver some of the most viscerally intense horror Image was publishing in 2016, and issue #14's cover makes that abundantly clear. Felipe Sobreiro's cover art depicts a wild-eyed, partially consumed figure wielding a cleaver in each hand, surrounded — and seemingly engulfed — by a writhing mass of grotesque red tendrils and monstrous organic forms. It's a portrait of desperate, ferocious survival against something vast and biological, rendered with enough gory detail to remind you exactly why this series earns its title.
