This anthology issue features "The Meadless Horror," in which Sheriff Ben Higgins investigates a murder at Frank Maxwell's mountain retreat, discovering that a man was shot through a large plate glass window by someone using a machine gun. Through witness testimony from Joe Caliso, the sheriff determines that Tony Dentino, a gangster who had been counterfeit passing bills at the race tracks, is the likely killer and has fled the area. The issue also includes a story involving a woman named Mrs. Nicholson and a valuable card hidden in a safe, as detectives work to uncover the truth behind a scheme involving impersonation and theft.
