Spirit of the Shadows #3

The third chapter of Oni Press's Spirit of the Shadows arrives with a cover that crackles with supernatural energy — a sharp-dressed witch in a wide-brimmed hat wields two glowing green magical weapons while a small bat familiar perches nearby and a patchwork figure looms at her side, all framed by swirling vines, jack-o'-lanterns, and ghostly faces peering from the border. Nick Cagnetti's artwork balances eerie atmosphere with genuine wit, and the story title "The Disobliging Doctor" promises the kind of delightfully strange confrontation the cover so vividly suggests. Daniel Ziegler and Cagnetti are building something wonderfully offbeat here, and issue #3 looks like a great moment to be along for the ride.
