In Spill Zone #1, a mysterious event has sealed off Poughkeepsie, New York, leaving behind monstrous echoes and a town frozen in silence. Teenager Addison, haunted by the loss of her parents, risks her life sneaking into the forbidden zone to photograph its eerie ruins, selling her images as art—always accompanied by her sister Lexa and her strange, silent rag doll, Vestpertine. When a North Korean official reaches out to the buyer of her photos, the quiet dread of the zone begins to ripple beyond its borders. Written by Scott Westerfeld and illustrated by Alex Puvilland, with colors by Hilary Sycamore, the cover by Alex Puvilland captures the unsettling stillness of a world on the edge.
