Spider-Man / Doctor Octopus: Out of Reach #5

The concluding chapter of this 2004 Marvel limited series ends on a suitably commanding note, with cover art by Randy Green putting Doctor Octopus front and center — green coat billowing, purple-tinted glasses fixed in a cold stare, his mechanical tentacles coiling and rearing around him against a warm amber sky. One of the arms even sports a menacing mechanical claw fitted with a glowing red eye, a detail that gives the whole image an unsettling, almost alien energy. Writer Colin Mitchell and artist Derec Aucoin bring "Out of Reach" to its close, and if this cover is any indication, Otto Octavius is not going quietly.
