Spellbound #15

Atlas Comics' Spellbound #15 from June 1953 delivers exactly what its banner promises — "Stories to Hold You" — with a cover by Carl Burgos that plunges you straight into graveyard dread. A hulking, shadowy creature lunges at the iron gates of Overland Cemetery while a terrified man cowers behind them, lantern in hand, as the story title "Get Out of My Graveyard!" leaves little doubt about the tension at play. Thumbnail vignettes along the left side tease three tales within — "The Living Dead!," "Enough Rope!," and "Lover Beware" (the latter illustrated by Joe Sinnott) — making this ten-cent package a genuinely satisfying anthology of chills.
