Speedy Rabbit encounters a ghost town and investigates a supposed haunting, discovering that a varmint has been causing the trouble. After resolving the situation, Speedy rides off and encounters a coyote, ultimately discovering through conversation with the coyote that it is not actually a coyote but a man who had previously left the coyote's offspring to join its own kind. The issue also contains "Sparky Smith and the Secret Cave," in which Sparky and her bird companion Cheeta discover rocks that appear to be gold, leading them to follow some mysterious figures into a cave.
