This is an anthology issue containing multiple stories. "Rodders to the Rescue" follows the Elmville hot-rod community's efforts to combat reckless driving and street racing through a one-man campaign led by hot-rodders themselves, prompted by the fiery editor of the Elmville Enterprise to tackle the problem the police cannot. "Rats of the Race Track" depicts Speed Smith and Hank Harrigan encountering a shabby racing operation that dupes the public and cheats drivers through dishonest practices at the track. In a third story, Speed Smith's custom hot-rod impresses stockholders at a company meeting and earns him a position in an automobile manufacturer's engineering department, with a character sarcastically calling him a "magnificent meathead" for his success.
