“The Final Curtain”

There's something genuinely moving about this cover — Spider-Man swings freely across a warm golden sunset, the entire New York skyline bathed in amber and rose tones below him, with the Brooklyn Bridge visible in the distance. Mark Buckingham's artwork gives the scene an almost elegiac glow, perfectly suited to an issue titled "The Final Curtain." With Paul Jenkins writing and D'Israeli's rich coloring throughout, this 2005 installment feels like a fitting, atmospheric send-off to whatever chapter is closing here.
