Spectacular Spider-Man #19
Part of Marvel's 2004 "Disassembled" event, this issue brings Jenkins, Medina, and Vlasco's "Changes Part 3" to an unsettling crescendo. The cover by Humberto Ramos and Wayne Faucher dominates with a deeply unnerving image: a figure unmistakably Spider-Man from the waist down, but whose upper body has grotesquely transformed into a massive, multi-limbed spider creature with chitinous appendages and goggle-like eyes, all set against a pitch-black void laced with glowing, chaotic webbing. It's a striking visual that raises immediate questions about what "changes" are overtaking the wall-crawler — and whether any part of Peter Parker remains inside.
