Space Ghost #8
In "Old Scores to Settle!", Space Ghost confronts the lingering shadows of his past as flashbacks reveal the traumatic loss of his wife and daughter on Planet Vector, a tragedy orchestrated by the vengeful Metallus. When Metallus' robots hijack a cargo vessel carrying a negatron bomb, Space Ghost intercepts the threat, recognizing the machines from his world's destruction, and sets out on a relentless pursuit fueled by decades of unresolved grief. Written by David Pepose and illustrated by Jonathan Lau, with colors by Andrew Dalhouse and letters by Taylor Esposito, this 2024 issue sees Space Ghost bring his vendetta into the heart of the Galactic Federation that once condemned him. The cover, by Francesco Mattina, captures the intensity of his mission.

As begun in issue #2, we get an additional flashback to the tragic events that shaped a man named "Dax" into the grimly dedicated protector known as Space Ghost - the deaths of his wife and daughter and the devastation of the Planet Vector at the hands of a vengeful Metallus. Metallus' robots attack and hijack a cargo vessel carrying a "negatron bomb". Responding to the distress call, Space Ghost recognizes the robots from Metallus' raid on Planet Vector and pursues Metallus with a grim and determined vengeance. Metallus takes his war to the Galactic Federation that once court-martialed him.
