In "Coupe-gorge," a wave of mutant violence shakes the city, leaving Charlotte and Archangel at a chilling crime scene where humans lie dead—mutants suspected but not confirmed. As Jean grapples with memories of her lost sister, Wolvie confesses his growing fear of losing himself to the beast within, while Beast, Bishop, and Psylocke step out of a movie theater only to be stunned by the sudden, terrified arrival of Juggernaut, who stumbles from the sky, screaming the name Onslaught like a warning.

In "Nouvelles des souterrains," Emma is held captive by Gene Nation operatives Hemingway and Marrow, with the former Morlock Leech suppressing her powers. When Artie leads Jubilee, Skin, and Synch into the underground lair, they find themselves struggling as Leech begins to drain their abilities too. Emma fights back, overcomes Leech, and with the help of the Gen X team, turns the tide against her captors. Afterward, she shares a quiet moment with Xavier, Jubilee exchanges words with the rugged, adamantium-laced Wolverine, and Paige’s flirtation with Chamber leads to an accidental explosion in the girl’s dorm.
