This Marvel Special Edition from November 1992 brings together a sprawling ensemble of Soviet super-powered characters in one dynamic cover image — with the red-suited Guardian charging front and center, flanked by a massive green rocky figure, a glowing energy being radiating light from above, a bear-sized creature, a dark-costumed female flier, and a host of soldiers, gunmen, and other super-operatives surging forward in a burst of radiant energy. The tagline "The Beginning of the End…!" sets an ominous tone perfectly suited to the post-Cold War moment in which this one-shot arrives.
