Sovereign Seven #19

Sovereign Seven #19 puts the spotlight squarely on Cruiser, shown here in gleeful, wide-grinned delight as he floats amid an absolute avalanche of food — pizzas, tacos, burgers, donuts, chips, ice cream, and more swirl around him in every direction while he sips contentedly from a cup, with a mysterious dark-gloved hand reaching in from the upper right. The cover tagline "Cruiser… Chowin' Down, Powerin' Up!" says it all, and Ron Lim and Chris Ivy bring an infectious energy to this delightfully over-the-top image that makes it hard not to smile. Chris Claremont's 1997 DC series continues to find its own irreverent voice, and this issue looks like a genuinely fun change of pace.
