Image Comics' Southern Cross reaches its sixth issue with a cover that's genuinely hard to look away from — a woman's face, half-obscured by a dark gridded sphere, surrounded by swirling, flame-like tendrils of warm red and orange energy radiating outward against a stark black void. Becky Cloonan's cover art captures something deeply unsettling and beautiful at once, with Lee Loughridge's color work turning the whole composition into a collision of cold blue shadow and burning heat.
