Set against a blazing desert sun and the looming silhouette of a mesa, this 2020 entry in the Sonora series pairs a steely gunslinger in a wide-brimmed hat with an elegantly dressed woman in teal — pistol in hand — as circling ravens cast a foreboding shadow over a dusty frontier town. The cover art by Benoît Dellac gives both figures an easy, dangerous confidence that sets the tone perfectly for a chapter titled "Lola Montez." Writer Jean-Pierre Pécau and Dellac look to be crafting a Western with real style and atmosphere.
