Solomon Grundy #7
The seventh and final chapter of this 2009 DC miniseries brings Solomon Grundy's journey to a thunderous close, billed right on the cover as "Buried on Sunday!" — a fittingly grim send-off for the swamp-born giant. Scott Kolins's cover art fills the frame with a massive, decay-ravaged Grundy looming menacingly, his glowing red eye and outstretched fists dominating the composition while electric lightning crackles around him — and the Black Lantern symbol makes its presence unmistakably felt, tying this issue directly into the "Prelude to Blackest Night" banner overhead. It's a fittingly dark cap to Grundy's solo spotlight, and Kolins's raw, textured linework makes every rotting detail of the character feel genuinely unsettling.
