"Archer's Feat" follows John the Bold, an English archer who aids French forces besieged at a castle on the Rhine by using a flaming arrow to ignite boiling oil cauldrons at 2,450 paces, earning him the hand of Princess Eugenie as reward. A second story features adventurer Lance Larson caught between Mongolian forces attacking from both sides, where he learns of a magical lead box from Prince Louis and ultimately returns to the Everglades after completing his mission. A third story involves a nighttime waterfront adventure in which a character named Duke battles rogues and seeks to rescue "Lady Nancy," encountering an ambassador named Castillo in the process.
Fighting Pete, a towering young soldier in the Tenth Virginia Regiment, earns legendary status during the Revolutionary War for his incredible strength and bravery. After being captured by Tory scouts, he uses stealth and speed to turn the tide against them, single-handedly defeating multiple enemies in a daring nighttime ambush.
Captain Crossbones returns to England after a year at sea, greeted not with celebration but suspicion as rumors paint him and his crew as pirates. With the Tower of London firing on his ship, he must prove his loyalty to Queen Elizabeth—only to be commissioned on a secret mission to uncover a Spanish invasion plot, thrusting him back into danger just as he reunites with Lady Nancy.
