# Soldiers of Fortune #3 This issue contains multiple adventure stories. "Archer's Feat" follows John the Bold, an English archer who aids French forces besieged at a castle on the Rhine by using a flaming arrow to ignite boiling oil cauldrons at 2,450 paces, earning him the hand of Princess Eugenie as reward. A second story features adventurer Lance Larson caught between Mongolian forces attacking from both sides, where he learns of a magical lead box from Prince Louis and ultimately returns to the Everglades after completing his mission. A third story involves a nighttime waterfront adventure in which a character named Duke battles rogues and seeks to rescue "Lady Nancy," encountering an ambassador named Castillo in the process.
