An anthology issue featuring multiple military stories. "What Happened on Taewah" depicts soldiers waiting out adverse weather conditions before receiving a signal from a tiny island south of their fleet, leading to a Red Fleet Thunderbird squadron being dispatched to die at dawn over the island. Additional stories include "A Blow for Freedom," depicting a POW's escape and strike, and "The Boy Shows Promise," which follows soldier Aloysius P. Derring as he completes an obstacle course, earns praise from his captain, receives training in rapid-fire combat, and participates in action involving a medic and enemy soldiers with bayonets.
