This German-language edition of Soda brings the series' eighth volume to readers in 1998, sporting a striking cover by Bruno Gazzotti that says everything about the tone within. A sharply dressed man in a dark suit and fedora coolly lights a cigarette while casually parting his jacket to reveal a holstered pistol — cross motifs embroidered on his outfit hinting at the collision of faith and violence that defines this series. "Mordet in Frieden" is a title that promises plenty of grim irony, and Gazzotti's confident linework makes this volume hard to put down before you've even opened the cover.
