Snooze #2

The second volume of Toussaint and Evenhuis's Snooze carries the evocative subtitle "Ontwaken" — Dutch for "Awakening" — and the cover by Chris Evenhuis captures that charged atmosphere perfectly. Two women lean toward each other in an almost-kiss, a luminous glow surrounding them against a city-lit backdrop of blinds and neon-tinged dusk. It's an intimate, beautifully rendered image that promises a story where the boundary between dreaming and waking — and perhaps between two people — grows fascinatingly blurred.
