This issue is an anthology featuring two stories. "The Clever Rooster" by Marty Arnold tells of a bright rooster named Randolf who uses his early-morning crowing to warn the barn animals of a fox named Freddy sneaking in to steal baby chickens; through Randolf's cleverness and warnings, the fox abandons his plan and the rooster earns the respect of the farmyard. "Sniffy the Pup in A-Haunting We Will Go" depicts Sniffy and Wellington going fishing when they encounter a ghost, leading to a series of comedic mishaps and chases involving the supernatural visitor.

Dizzy Duck opens a barber shop and welcomes his first customer—a fellow sporting an 18-year-old beard he's carefully maintained. What follows is a comedy of escalating disasters as Dizzy's well-intentioned efforts to groom his client spiral hilariously out of control, from a fan mishap to an overly enthusiastic hot towel treatment. By the time the scissors come out, things have only gotten worse, leading to a punchline that explains just how qualified Dizzy really is for the job.

Punchy Squirrel spots a beat-up jalopy for sale and dreams of owning it—until he learns the asking price. When a slick partner offers to go halves on the deal, Punchy jumps at the chance, only to discover that "halves" means something very different when a schemer like Phineas Fox is involved. This two-page romp from 1953 is a lesson in reading the fine print before shaking on a bargain.
