Astrosmurf longs to explore space, but his space ship does not work. Since the Smurfs cannot bear to see Astrosmurf disappointed so they drug him, carry him and his space ship to a distant volcano crater, and transform themselves into "aliens" called Swoofs. After Astrosmurf enjoys his visit they reverse the process, but then have to listen to Astrosmurf embroidering his experiences in "space."
