After getting thoroughly checked-out, Lex announces that Lexcorp, led by Commander Hank Henshaw, will be putting defense platforms into Earth's orbit. Before the first launch, Oliver confronts Lex and Clark interviews Commander Henshaw. But something goes wrong when an explosion rocks the shuttle soon after take-off. Superman leaps into action to save the shuttle crew, including a wounded Commander Henshaw, but Otis finds that Lex is not upset by the turn of events in the least.
