The blue-haired, pointy-eared protagonist of Slumber dominates this striking Image Comics cover, hauling an overstuffed pack bristling with a spiked weapon and a katana while clutching something small and green that's visibly dissolving in her hand — green droplets scattering everywhere. Surrounding her are a handful of wide-eyed, teal fish-like creatures peering in from the shadowy edges of the frame, lending the whole scene a wonderfully weird dreamlike energy. Nathan Fox's linework and color work deliver a vivid, inventive world that makes this 2022 series feel like something genuinely unlike anything else on the shelf.
