When the fearsome Pirates of Abmur attack the ship, chaos erupts and a chance for revenge presents itself, as Garth fights to reclaim both the stolen talisman and his beloved from Phao's clutches.
Two archaeologists on an expedition in a Middle Eastern jungle stumble into a cave during a storm, where they discover Princess Tais—a young woman perfectly preserved in ice from an ancient, lost civilization—and miraculously revive her. Believing only days have passed since a terrible siege of her city, the Princess Tais begs Ted Briggs and Dick Kane to help her return to her people and warn them that aid is on the way, leading the men through dangerous territory toward what she believes awaits her. What the three find when they finally emerge will shake them to their core.
Shipwrecked on the shores of the ancient city of Zankhara, a young woman and her companion Garth are mistaken for spies and forced into slavery under the tyrannical Queen Shala—but Garth accepts a dangerous bargain that puts him at odds with the woman he loves. Now, as a newly made palace officer, Garth must navigate the deadly politics of Shala's court and the infamous Tower of Indecision, a chambers of seven doors from which no prisoner has ever escaped alive.
Archaeologist Neal Vernon and his companion Cliff Barron discover the legendary lost city of Chicalmo hidden in the Peruvian Andes—only to be captured by its native inhabitants. When Neal's sister Shelia receives a vivid premonition of their fate, she races to Peru and enters the tunnel herself, only to be mistaken by the Chicalmos for their prophesied Flame Goddess. Now Shelia must use her newfound divine authority to save her brother and Cliff from a deadly sacrifice, all while navigating the customs and beliefs of a civilization frozen in time.
Malu, a princess from distant Ormuz, and her protector Garth escape from the Tower of Indecision with the help of Gaddo, brother of the righteous leader Tirza, and together they flee to Tirza's fortress city. There, they learn that Tirza has held back her armies waiting for Gaddo's rescue—but now the time has come to march on Zankhara and overthrow the tyrannical Shala, and Garth volunteers for a dangerous mission to open the city gates from within. As Tirza's forces lay siege to Zankhara and the oppressed populace rises in revolt, the outcome of this pivotal battle hangs in the balance.
