Sixpack and Dogwelder: Hard Travelin' Heroz #2

The second chapter of Garth Ennis and Russ Braun's six-issue DC series brings us "Heckblazer," and Steve Dillon's cover sets the tone perfectly — a cigarette-smoking, trench-coated blonde man rubs his temples in weary exasperation, flanked by the rotund, bottle-clutching Six Pack on one side and the goggled, welding-torch-wielding Dogwelder (accompanied by a bewildered hound) on the other. It's a portrait of superheroics at their most gloriously absurd, rendered with Dillon's sharp, expressive linework against a smoldering red backdrop. If you've been enjoying Section 8's brand of hard-luck adventuring, this 2016 installment looks ready to deliver more of the same chaotic charm.
