# Six-Gun Heroes #18 (1953) The lead story, "The Marks of Innocence," follows Monte Hale as he investigates a bandit's death and discovers a locket containing a woman's picture. After finding the locket was stolen from a payroll robbery, Monte uses it as evidence to track down the real killer and clear an innocent man. In a subplot, Brinks, a troublemaking drifter, targets Golby's cattle and confronts Hyar at Golby's ranch, planning to settle their dispute by nightfall, but is ultimately stopped from committing murder.
