Sinister Tales #222
In "Lance Lenning, Lunatic!", a time-traveling future tyrant arrives in the past only to find his plans unraveling as he sinks into a treacherous swamp. Trapped and unable to communicate with the primitive hunters who find him—whose minds have long since lost the ability to speak—he faces a fate far more humiliating than he anticipated. Chuck Miller handles both art and inks for the story, while Kurt Schaffenberger delivers the cover.

A future man travels into the past to rule but finds himself sinking into a pit of swamp quicksand. He sees a couple of hunters and tries to control their minds through telepathic communication, but their minds are too primitive. He cannot shout out to them, as their telepathy rendered their vocal chords inert over a thousand years ago. Despairing, he reverses the time direction and deposits himself into the hands of the authorities.
