The concluding chapter of Silver Surfer: Black arrives with one of 2019's most striking covers — Tradd Moore's artwork depicts the Surfer consumed and transformed by swirling dark symbiote-like tendrils, his board warped beneath him as iridescent, oil-slick colors blaze against an otherwise pitch-black void. It's a haunting image that captures a hero seemingly at the edge of his own identity, beautifully colored by Dave Stewart whose prismatic highlights make the darkness feel alive. Donny Cates and Tradd Moore close out their five-part cosmic odyssey with this penultimate visual promise of a Surfer pushed far beyond his gleaming silver origins.
