Years ago, Henry's first wife had run off to the states with another man, taking his baby daughter. Later he met Jean's mother and looked on her as his own daughter. Now Jean was engaged to an ambitious surgeon and he was willing to use her father's wealth and influence to advance his career. Meanwhile, on her death bed, Henry's first wife made Sharon promise to seek out her real father and use his wealth. Jean was unhappy at seeing her fiance and her new step-sister trying to take advantage of her step-father's wealth.
